The story behind the recipe:

This recipe was written down for me by my Mom as part of a family recipe book that I was encouraged to add to over time and pass down again. These brownies were the first recipe in the book that I made together with my daughter when she was 2. She loved them. We also wrapped some of them up and put them into our neighbor's mailbox too.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter
4 squares semi-sweet chocolate (the red Baker’s box)
4 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour

How to make it:

Melt together in microwave 1/2 C butter 4 squares of chocolate.

Allow this to cool.

Beat 4 eggs + 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Beat in 2 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Mix chocolate mixture into sugar & eggs.

Mix in 1 cup flour.

Bake in 9 x 12 pan @ 350 for about 20 to 25 minutes.
