The story behind the recipe:

Some of my family emigrated from Hungary and brought this recipe with them. We usually make it for birthdays.

Ingredients:

1 Whole Chicken
1 Medium Onion
1 Container Sour Cream
Paprika
Garlic Salt
Butter

Egg Noodles:
3 cups flour (2 white, 1 whole wheat)
2 eggs
1 cup water (sub broth from the chicken for more flavor)
Salt, to taste

How to make it:

1. Boil chicken with half of onion chunked and salt to taste (you want the broth to taste good so the egg noodles do too!).

2. Remove chicken from broth.

3. Let chicken cool and pick meat from the bones.

4. Combine all egg noodle ingredients. Use a spoon to drop small portions into boiling water or broth. When
the noodles float take them out of the broth.

5. Dice remaining onion and sauté in butter. Add chicken. Add paprika and salt to taste. Add egg noodles.
Add sour cream. Check color, should be a light red-orange color, add more paprika and salt to taste.

6. Serve with peas (we cook them with butter and garlic salt) or salad.
